Seizure Fist and Sunshine SS @ The Last House on the Left, 5.16.2009

Seizure Fist 1-3

Sunshine SS 5-8

So, if you would have told me the members of Seizure Fist were going to start a band there would have been awkward silence from me. Them? Really? Don’t get me wrong, I like all of them personally, but I didn’t know they played music.

After seeing four Seizure Fist sets I’m blown away every time. Everyone is into their role, but the band has a collective pulse, one that’s erradic enough not to be predictable. If I was in a touring band I’d love to follow their set because each time the crowd is left hungry for more.

With their cages rattled, Sunshine SS was next and they were just excited to play a rager. I guess not every stop on tour is like The Last House on the Left.

Momentum was building after a few songs and it looked like this could have been, not one of the best sets of the year, but maybe month. That was until an abrupt end to the music. Was it the cops? Lost glasses? Social anxiety? Nope, just the ultimate set killer: a broken string.

After taking a few minutes to find a replaceent instrument, the rowdiness never recovered, but you could tell Sunshine SS was thrilled to be a part of this show. So next tour you’ll be swinging on by?
