Doing their best to turn everyone right wing
Ewww, Democrats! They sure are yucky.
Has anyone ever seen anything as nauseating as the 2008 Democratic Presidential Convention? (I know, I know, just wait, the Republicans’ get-together is next week). I’m not just talking about Hil’s bright orange, official sex offender-issued pants suit. No, the whole clan is stuck in a self-righteous, out-of-touch la-la land about as clueless as John Kerry’s decision to go windsurfing off Nantucket Island while campaigning for prez in 2004 (speaking of Kerry, is he even at the convention? Damn, Democrats. Hit it and quit it.)
If I were a betting man (and I am) I would definitely pick the Old Geezer right now.
While the Dems are singing “Cumbiya” at their pep rally, the recently awoken Rip Van Winkle has taken the lead in the polls. The Republicans are pounding away at Obama more than the grunts did in ‘Nam leaving the Democrats consistently on the defensive. Simultaneously they have an ad with Hil saying McCain is a better choice to lead than Obama as well as one connecting him to the Weather Underground. Double zing.
Granted, no ads directly say why McCain is a better choice, but remember: This is America, and you don’t need logic to win an election. In fact, too much logic is probably harmful. If the average newspaper reader has a fourth grade reading level, then the average voter has a second grade IQ.
Another reason for Obama’s fall is his VP pick. Did he really choose a senator from Delaware (which is definitely not in the South and only worth three electoral votes) that wasn’t popular enough to advance himself from the infantile stages of his own party’s presidential primary? If Democrats don’t like him, how will he attract those coveted and mysterious undecided voters. (I doubt many of these creatures exist. If you don’t know the difference between Republicans and Democrats as well as which side you’re on well in advance, you don’t deserve to vote.)
Selecting Hil would have landed the Democrats back in the White House for the first time since the Clintons were in the White House. Why are Republican’s so much better at politics? You know McCain is going to pick Texas Congresswoman Kay Bailey Hutchison for VP, thus ensuring his victory. Why? America would much rather see a bland white woman in the #2 position than a charismatic black man at #1.
So, anyone wanna make a bet?

How much do you want to wager? My prediction wasn’t too far off.
Be warned: the Republicans are better at politics and they haven’t even begun to rear their ugly heads yet.
