It was too much metal for the 15th Ave. area, just enough for us.
Hard to believe a rainy Sunday night with cops knocking on the garage, cool bartenders serving bad drinks, late night conversations through microphones, and underage girls falling straight to their head in the alley would make for a memorable show.
Locusta and especially Insurrect were amazing. I missed Nukkehammer – Columbus’ new metal super group consisting of Dennis, Lazer and Matt Minor - but enjoyed their 10 minute set from my attic bedroom across the alley. The neighbors, not so much. Maybe one day I’ll get a photo of that Lazer character.

Here’s two of the better photos from the Cleveland show during their four-stop tour with Defiance, Ohio earlier in the month. It was the first one of the year to be over powering with BO and I think I saw someone’s mom drinking a Schlitz.

I wasn’t going to attend. Show fatique was beginning earlier than ever - you know the time of year where if you search hard enough you can see a show every night. Lately way too many bands have been going on tour prematurely, not sure how they afford it with hardly anyone in attendance as gas prices continue to rise.
The deciding factor to go was Vile Gash, who did not disappoint (more on them later). I forgot From the Depths was ex-Catharsis/Requiem. I enjoyed their set despite a little bit of Crimethinc preaching that reminded me of 2001.
(When searching to see if I spelled Catharsis right, I came across Encyclopedia Mettalum - only click if you have way too much time on your hands.)

It’s been a while since my other photo blog self destructed, and I decided to start a new one for the same reason: let my photos see the light of day - for myself and others. While I’ve been shooing more than ever, most photos get dumped on my hard drive and wait for a draft that never happens.
To honor a fresh start, I decided to post a doozy. Yep, last Thursday was one of those types of nights.
